No Vocal Sounds In The Game?!

Ok, so after this patch, there are no voices in the game. No Bitching Betty, no Angry Clanner, no command wheel sounds, no "target destroyed"..

Am I the only one? I'm not. I checked with Devilwoman, on her laptop.. also the same thing..

Note that all the sound checkboxes are properly checked, nothing has changed that I can detect.. and all other sounds are present..

Come on guys, can we please have one patch without major bugs?

Yeah, no Bitching Betty, it's disabled, after this 24-May-2022 patch?

No "Target Spotted"
No "Override Engaged"
etc. etc.

I now appreciate how useful Bitching Betty, after taking it for granted for so long!

Please bring back the "Bitching Betty" !!

Likewise - hadn't realised how much I rely on them.

Spent first game mashing the Target Lock button as I thought I wasn't targeting.

Hoping this is a bug....

Glad to see it's not just me.

I liked Betty, she might've been repetitive, but definetly useful.

I sense that the new font is also connected to this issue.. cose' why would they change the base game font?

I actually had to stop playing.

These sounds are very important, and the game is just unplayable without them..

Same I thought it was just me reinstalled the game and everything.
And any sound mods are now broken as well.
Whole game now just feels empty without her.

Hi all... I can tell you part of what likely happened, given that I was part of the last PTS for the Skill Tree changes. It so happens they replaced the following PTS files...
  • English.pak
  • French.pak
...with these other files over on the PTS named...
  • English_xml.pak
  • Russian_xml.pak
...and altered the internal structures of those files as well to the point that MWO's PTS Game Client is literally no longer able to use them properly, and thus caused most all of the dialog audio to stop working over there. Something similar likely happened to the Font data that MWO also needed, if it was not stripped completely. That has probably been propagated over to the MWO Live Game Client rather wrongfully in the latest Patch arrival, when somebody should not have been trying to pack in more changes than were intended. This may cause me to consider avoiding patching the MWO Live Game Client until they HotFix what has been done wrong. Oh well, there goes my next few days of Mech driving! :angry:

Same issue, warhorn "nice shot" or whatever works fine. Not using any sound mods.

This better be a hotfix, yeah.

I was running around under the Atlases and Mad Dogs taking the "El" Train trying to guess why my UAV would not launch.

Here is a workaround till they get it officially fixed. Sound mods are legal so no worries about using it.

Were you in the Event Queue Module at the time? They blocked UAVs in one of the setups, near-effectively making everything only Direct Fire in nature. One would think those would be useful in taking a look around the corner during a brawl? :(

I was not in that queue. And it did launch, but the game did not verbally report that it launched my UAV, nor did it report that the UAV detected any mechs. So I kept running around looking up and getting shot at from different angles above me, thinking I kept failing to peek out enough from under the platforms above to launch it. Eventually after I ran away I saw that the UAV was there.
